Orangutan Space…
Perhaps as another life I was an orangutan,
for while I may not tangle in the tree tops now…
from where I sit in the easy-chair under the cave of maples…
I mingle with emerald leaves,
dangle in the whispering breeze,
revel and writhe in the freedom of higher elevations,
marvel at the blue-dome sky,
wonder over how I happen to witness the expanse of this experience…
shedding the captivity of boundaries,
struggling to get the ‘hang’ of this moment…
Thoughts flit like butterflies…
focus splits like a kaleidoscope of patterns…
‘here’ dissolves in the treetops,
and far, far below am ‘I’,
a gathering entity smoothing out vast moments
in the pursuit of order…
yet marveling at the freedom available
at the fingertips of this openness…
