“Though we encounter limits wherever ‘something’ has been established, we are free to look instead toward ‘nothing’—toward the ‘nowhere’ of nonpositioned Space, the ‘nothing happening’ of invariant Time, and the ‘nothing to know’ of an indeterminate Knowledge.”
‘Knowledge of Time and Space,‘ by Tarthang Tulku, [Chapter 109 – Open to Creation, p. 489]
In the Monday TSK Study Group, we’ve been discussing ‘opening’ and ‘letting-go’ as we practice, Ex. 29 – Welcoming Each New Arising. From ‘Gesture of Great Love’, [and other TSK, ‘edge of the future’ practices]… and the possibility of recognizing “Time’s Giving Instant“. The practice can feel like simply observing clouds passing, or surf rolling in wave after wave… without naming, or adopting a position separate from what appears.
If we can give up for a moment, our continuous structuring of what arises, then, as we relax into the direct experience of appearing, maybe Knowingness dawns on us… we realize without doing anything, we realize… “Oh! THIS is what Rinpoche is pointing to!” That simple recognition colors our future read-outs. [We catch ‘the scent of our true nature’.] We become less fearful and more trusting of relaxing and letting go. We now are more allowing, recognizing, noticing, everything now has space that comes with it… that we’d missed before our ‘recognizing’.
